Storm Shelter Opening Notifications

Lebanon Storm Shelters are made available when the City of Lebanon falls under a Tornado Warning or when the Office of Emergency Management determines it is required. To keep residents informed about shelter openings, the City of Lebanon utilizes both our Facebook Page and the Nixel Emergency Alert Texting System. To sign up for this service, you can visit the City of Lebanon website or simply text LebanonMO to 888-777. Stay safe and connected!

Important Notice: While we want to ensure your safety, please be aware that the city cannot assume responsibility for any accidents that may occur during travel to the shelters in inclement weather. Take all necessary precautions and prioritize your safety when making the decision to seek shelter. Always have a way to receive official weather warnings and a plan for when action is required. The official government weather source for the Lebanon area is the National Weather Service in Springfield, Missouri. It is also wise to have a weather radio connected and ready to go.
