City Council Recap - March 22 Meeting

Here is a summary of the action taken at the March 22 regular Lebanon City Council meeting:

✅ Council approved Bill No. 6046 transferring a city-owned lot, located at 687 Williams Street, to a housing developer for development.

How does this impact the community?

Lebanon needs more affordable housing to help support our population. This action will help increase housing in our community and help increase the tax base for Lebanon.

✅ Council approved Bill 6048 authorizing purchase and installation of asphalt surface sealant for Tower Road, Jackson Avenue and Adams Street.

How does this impact the community?

This action will help maintain and improve city streets. Street maintenance was a top priority for our residents as indicated in the 2020 Customer Satisfaction Survey.

✅ Council approved Bill 6051 for the material and construction of a concrete stage for the Boswell Park Amphitheater.

How does this impact the community?

The amphitheater project will provide a new location for our residents to enjoy live music, etc. The project was proposed as part of the Capital Improvements Plan approved by our voters in 2018. The goal is to complete this project in time for the Route 66 Festival scheduled for Father’s Day weekend.

✅ Council approved Bill 6052 authorizing the purchase of six 2021 Dodge Durango Pursuit AWD Sport Utility Vehicles for the Police Department.

How does this impact the community?

This purchase will help provide needed equipment for our police officers and ultimately will help keep  our community safer.
The next regular City Council Meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. April 12 with a work session scheduled for 6 p.m. April 1.
