The City of Lebanon has launched a new public records management system to improve efficiency and consistency in responding to public records requests.

The NextRequest software will allow the public to submit requests directly to the city through a public portal. City officials are excited about the improved constituent service and transparency that this portal will bring to our community.

“Our new NextRequest Portal allows us to respond to public records requests much more efficiently than the way we were doing it previously,” said Assistant City Administrator/City Clerk Laina Starnes.

“This software also allows us to centralize all requests in one system while keeping detailed audit trails to ensure compliance with the Sunshine Law.”

NextRequest provides robust help resources for public requesters to learn how to use the portal and access records.

Starnes said city staff using the portal love it.

“We respond to 800 to 1000 public records requests a year, and this portal is making all the difference in the world for staff, as well as the requester,” she said.

The public can access the NextRequest software by going to the City of Lebanon Website and clicking on the Public Records Request link at the bottom of the page, on the clerk’s page or under the “How Do I” link. The page can also be accessed by visiting cityoflebanonmo.nextrequest.com.

For more information about the new system, contact Laina Starnes at lstarnes@lebanonmo.org

Technical issues with the portal can be directed to the NextRequest Support team at support@nextrequest.com.
