[ARCHIVED] City Council Recap - Aug. 8th Regular Meeting

Graphic for City Council Recap

Here is a brief recap of major actions taken by the Lebanon City Council at the regular Aug. 8, 2022 meeting:

✅ Council approved Bill No. 6338 authorizing the installation of a police car canopy for the police department.

Why is this significant?

Currently, the police departments vehicles are parked in the open weather. This new pavilion will lower temperatures inside vehicles, helping protect the electronic equipment. This will also help protect the city investment in these vehicles and provide the vehicles with protection from snow and ice, etc.

✅ Council Approved Bill No. 6341 authorizing the change of the name of Kansas Street to Ice Cream Way.

Why the name change?

Ice Cream Factory is working to renovate the previous Mid-Am Dairy building on Kansas Street to locate a manufacturing plant in Lebanon. With Ice Cream Factory being the only structure on the roadway, officials hope the name change will help highlight the company’s mission. Ice Cream Factory officials plan to make the factory a destination for community members and for those traveling through the area.

✅ Council approved bills 6339 and 6340 authorizing utility materials for infrastructure in the Flatwood Subdivision.

Why is this significant?

Lebanon needs more housing. With builders developing this area, this authorization will help provide the needed utilities for this housing development.
