[ARCHIVED] Lebanon police participate in active shooter training

The Lebanon Police Department received vital active threat response training Oct. 25-27 along with more than 40 other law enforcement officers.

Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers from Troop I provided instruction to officers from the Lebanon Police Department, Laclede County Sheriff’s Office, and the Missouri Department of Conservation Oct. 25 through 27 at Lebanon’s First Christian Church.

“This training has an immediate impact on the safety of our citizens,” said Lebanon Police Chief Bryan Arnold. “We now have over 40 local law enforcement officers, trained in the same manner, and ready to react quickly and decisively if we have an active threat situation. We will not hesitate to eliminate the threat.”

The instructors provided training to enhance each officer’s ability to respond while they are either on or off duty to an active-threat situation.

Each session was a full day comprised of short instruction periods followed by multiple intense practical scenarios.

Plans are being made to continue and expand this type of training in the future.
