The City of Lebanon is proud to announce the installation of a new Route 66 sculpture at the Route 66 Plaza in Boswell Park.
The sculpture was added as part of ongoing efforts to celebrate Lebanon’s historic connection to Route 66 ahead of the Route 66 Centennial in 2026. The project was made possible through funding support from the Missouri Route 66 Centennial Commission and collaborative efforts between the City of Lebanon and the Lebanon Parks Department.
The new sculpture serves as a welcoming landmark and a unique photo opportunity for residents and visitors alike. Additional improvements, including sidewalk connections and site lighting, are planned for the area in the near future to enhance accessibility and visibility.
Tourism Director Rebecca Rupard said the City hopes to host a dedication ceremony at the site sometime in the future as Lebanon joins communities across the country in celebrating this milestone year for Route 66.
Community members are encouraged to visit Boswell Park and enjoy this new addition to Lebanon’s Route 66 corridor.
