The Mayor Lyle Anderson Gold Leaf Award 

Since its inception in 2019, the Mayor Lyle Anderson Gold Leaf Award for Volunteer Service has celebrated the exceptional individuals dedicated to enriching the City of Lebanon. This prestigious accolade recognizes volunteers who contribute significantly across various sectors, including health, recreation, arts, environment, education, public safety, civic engagement, and human services. The spirit of community service shines through the efforts of these individuals, who either reside in Lebanon or have performed their volunteer service within the city's confines.

Each year, in alignment with National Volunteer Week, the award is bestowed by our mayor during the closest city council meeting in April. The ceremony shines a spotlight on two deserving recipients — one adult and one youth — highlighting their commitment to fostering a better community through selfless service.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Residency: Nominees must be residents of Lebanon or have conducted their volunteer service within the city limits over the last 12 months.
• Age Categories: The award is divided into two categories: Youth (under the age of 18 at the time of service) and Adult (18 years and older at the time of service).
• Service Areas: Eligible volunteer activities include contributions to health, recreation, arts, environment, education, public safety, civic service, or human services within Lebanon.
• Nomination Process: Individuals can be nominated by others or apply themselves, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
