Child Seat Safety Program
Certified Technicians Ready to Help Your Family Stay Safe
The City of Lebanon Fire Department is proud to offer our Child Seat Safety Program. Our certified car seat technicians provide installation help, safety checks, and clear guidance so families can feel confident their child’s seat is secure and used the right way.
Correct car seat installation is important because most crashes happen close to home, and a properly installed seat can greatly reduce the risk of serious injury. Many seats are installed too loosely, used at the wrong angle, or placed in the wrong position for a child’s age, height, or weight. Our technicians are trained to help caregivers avoid these common mistakes.
During your appointment, staff can:
- Check that your car seat fits your child and your vehicle
- Show you how to install the seat correctly
- Explain when to switch from rear-facing to forward-facing, and later to a booster
- Review safety tips such as using harness straps at the right height and keeping the seat tightly secured
We can provide approved car seats at no cost while supplies last. You do not need to be a City of Lebanon resident to receive a car seat or a safety check, because this is a state-supported program.
Child seat checks and installations are done at Lebanon Fire Station 3. We do not have car seats at the other fire stations. A certified technician is available Monday through Friday.
Walk-ins (drive ups) are welcome at Station 3 when a technician is available, but making an appointment is the best way to be sure someone is ready to help you. To schedule an appointment, please fill out our Car Seat Installation Appointment Form.
